For Me.
Me is a subject words that
used by someone to tell him/herself. Me means for the own person.
For myself, Gunma is Gate to the
world. A gate to meet different people with different language, in different
place and different culture.
Gunma exchange also a learning
not only about medical faculty in Gunma, Japan, but also about the character of
one of the Greatest Nation in Asia. The Sunrise Country. One of the most
developed country in Asia, the King of Asia.
Japan often we knows as one of
the biggest Otomotive Industry. Their product even have been enjoyed by
Indonesian people in remote area, that even goverment can’t touch that area,
but Japan’s Motorcycle, japan’s Motorboat, japan’s Car, japan’s electronic
product and many other japan’s product have touch them.
Japan’s also known as one of the
country that prioritize their education. When lost to Alliances in World War
II, after Atomic Bomb explode in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the first question
comes from their Leader is, ”how many teachers are left ?”
Then, after their big loss, Japan
immediatly revive. Since 1960 until 2004, they become giant in Industrial. And
then in 2008, they become the number one in Industrial, beating United States
of America.
Borrowing the statement of one of
philoshoper, Paulo Freire, “Education actually is an instrument to Educate
Humans, to Improve their Intellectual”. Japan sure have implement the education
very well to educate their people.
“But, Indonesia also educate
their people, isn’t it ?”
Yes. Comparably, our education
system is similiar to Japans. They have 6 years Elementary School, 3 years
Junior High School, 3 years Senior High school and even the same college
system.
So, what is the difference ? Why
japans succeed minimalize their unemployment while the unemployment in
Indonesia always increase each year ?
The answer, from my opinion, is
not about the system. It’s the people that running the system. The people that
have achieve the top of civilization.
Japanese are famous of their
attitude, their work ethic, and their good character are great difference for
Indonesia. But it’s not impossible to be compete. Japan’s Medical Education and
Medicine right now are leading and dominating all over Asian and the world.
As in Industrial Competition,
their strategy in Medical Education is just the same. First, they use foreign
machine. Then they unload that machine. And then they try to construct the machine from the beginning.
After they can do it, they aren’t stopping, they try to find weakness in the
machine and overcome it. Then they develop and innovate their own machine. Easy
to say but hard to do.
Every hard work need
determination and spirit to never give up. It’s all back to the character.
Character are what person made from. It can make someone keep standing even in
the midst of storm. And character, also may make people bow.
I want to see their character. Then,
if it’s good, I will make it my character.
For You, the second person
subject words, that are for people around me. You, you, and you. I want to make
use this character for our better community and environment. To overcome our
problem. And if I may, I would very glad if my character being imitated by
person around me.
For Them, the third person
subject words, that are for people of my country. I want to share my
experience, share my mind, and share my character. There is something wrong in
our education system. We teach math, Physic, Chemical and many others to our
kids but we don’t teach them attitude, ethic, value, and morale. Their mother
and father isn’t there to show and teach them, so our kids search others to be
imitated. Then they imitated bad movie scene, bad cartoon character, and bad
community around them.
Then for My Beloved Medical
Faculty, University of Padjadjaran, I want to see how they teach attitude in
Gunma. Are they teach attitude and ethic just as same as our institution, 2
hours lecture a week and then Exam. Or they can do better.
For the better future doctor,
that truly oriented in patient health. Not else.
